Expertise & Excellence
Our Scientific Board is composed of independent scholars and specialists selected for their expertise in the field of tourism, cultural heritage and preservation.
The role of the Scientific Board is to design and carry out the training programme, follow up participants on their work, assist them in planning their specific action plan for their routes, approve new European Route's partnerships and supervise the new routes' roll out.

Dr. Jordi Tresserras University of Barcelona
Jordi Tresserras Juan is an associate professor of heritage management and cultural tourism at the UB. He has been a visiting professor at New York University, and lecturer in several countries of the Mediterranean, Latin-America and China. President of IBERTUR-Heritage Network, Tourism. Responsible for the re-search group of the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN). Member of the Board of Directors of the UNITWIN Network of the UNESCO Chair "Tourism, Culture, Development" of the Université Paris 1-Sorbonne. Founding member of the Scientific Committee for Interpretation of the Heritage of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and member of the Tourism and Cultural Tourism Products Clubs of the Catalan Tourism Agency.

Prof. Yoel Mansfeld University of Haifa
Yoel Mansfeld is a Professor of Tourism Planning & Development, a consultant and a trainer based in Haifa, Israel. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE), University of London, UK. His main areas of interests include sustainable tourism, cultural tourism; cultural routes; tourism and security; socio-cultural impacts of tourism development; community-based tourism; and religious tourism. He is also the founder and Head of the University of Haifa's Centre for Tourism, Pilgrimage & Recreation Research (CTPRR) and one of the founding members of the European Cultural Routes Universities Network (EC-RUN) established by the Council of Europe’s European Institute for Cultural Routes. Yoel Mansfeld is also an active member of the UNESCO-UNITWIN net-work on Culture, Tourism & Development.

Jeremy Leigh Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem
Born in London, UK, Jeremy emigrated to Israel in the early 1990’s, where he now teaches Jewish history and Israel Studies at the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. He works extensively in the field of Jewish educational travel; developing programmes around the Jewish world; training guides; and authoring books and guides for educators. He is the director of ‘Jewish Journeys’ and author of a book of the same name (Haus Publishing, London 2007).

Jean Pierre Lambert Historical Society for Jewish History in Alsace and Lorraine
Jean Pierre Lambert is chairman of the historical society for Jewish History in Alsace and Lorraine and member of the French team for Jewish archaeology. He was member of the Board of Jewish community Strasbourg from 1995 to 2005, in the heritage department. In addition to various books coordination, papers writing on Jewish history, conferences, exhibitions organisation, he launched the Creation of the “Day of Open Doors of the Alsatian Judaism”, first step toward the AEPJ creation, and the JECPJ- France.
