Handcraft a synagogue and tabernacle in Mini Format
Date: Sunday, September 13rd, 2020
Time: 13:00
Address: Neupfarrplatz
We offer two architecture workshops for children:
1. What belongs to a synagogue? How is it structured? Under guidance of architects you can build a synagogue yourself with the help of a handicraft sheet.
2. Sukkot or Feast of Tabernacles belongs to the Jewish festivals. It is originally a harvest festival (also known as the ""Feast of Gathering"") and is celebrated after the harvest has been fully harvested.
Sukkot means ""huts"" because the central commandment of this festival requires that people live in temporary huts during the festival week. The Feast of Tabernacles is celebrated for seven full days in September or October. It is customary to build a small hut, to spend as many hours together as possible and to eat together at least on the first evening. Building the sukka is an adventure for the whole family.
