10th European Day of Jewish Culture

10th European Day of Jewish Culture

Conclusions and results

Dear Friends,
The celebration of the 10th European Day of Jewish Culture has yet again been a huge success, both in terms of organisation and participation.
The event was launched on September 4th, in the Spanish city of Plasencia, where a press conference presenting the EDJC took place, with the participation of representatives of all the member associations of the AEPJ, to celebrate this 10th anniversary.
The magnificent results of participation obtained in all participating countries, are the best endorsement for this project, which has become an essential part of the European Cultural agenda. Over the years, not only the number of visitors has increased, but also the number of activities and events on offer, as well as their quality:
From 5 to 25 countries
From 50.000 to 200.000 visitors
From 50 to 600 cultural activities
The full consolidation of the project also represents an important collaboration of, and cooperation between, citizens of different countries, cultural traditions and beliefs.
There is a growing tendency of the Day to extend itself over the whole weekend, or even a longer period, which is an excellent tool for long-term cooperation in order to save from oblivion a heritage and a culture which is inseparable from the European identity.
From these pages we would like to express our warmest thanks to all those persons who have dedicated their time, knowledge and efforts to make the European Day of Jewish Culture come true.
