
First Meeting of Cultural Routes Network
On October 2nd was held in Strasbourg the First Meeting of the Cultural Routes Network of the Council of Europe. It had an attendance of 40 people representing most of the 24 European cultural routes. The representatives of the Advisory Commitee of the Cultural Routes are the national representatives from the Cultural Ministry of Lithuania, Greece, Luxembourg, Spain, Georgia and Rumania, and the meeting was chaired by Mrs. Roberta Alberotanza and the Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes Mr. Michel Thomas Penette.
The meeting, organized by the General Directorate of Education, Culture and Heritage, Youth and Sport, had an active participation of their representatives, Mr. Robert Palmer, Director of Culture and Natural Heritage; Mrs. Irena Guidikova, head of Cultural, Diversity and Negotiation policies; and Mrs. Françoise Tondre, in charge of the Cultural Routes.
The goal of this meeting was to announce the new decision adopted by the Commitee of Ministers about the Routes of the Council of Europe, as well as the general guidelines of this routes and their visibility. In addition, the meeting discussed about proceeding and management regarding the creation of different routes, and the improvement and relationship among themselves and between them and their territories.
The delegation of the AEPJ (European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage) was composed by Claude Bloch, representative of B\'nai B\'rith Europe; and Assumpció Hosta, representative of Red de Juderías - Caminos de Sefarad.
