The AEPJ successfully holds its 2020 General Assembly virtually
On 10 September 2020, the 22 members of the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage met virtually and exceptionally for the first time to hold their general assembly.
The result of the meeting was very positive, approving all the necessary documents to start next year. In 2021 the AEPJ will participate in five European projects, from different programs, including REC, Creative Europe and Erasmus+. The highest number of projects carried out to date.
As a highlight, the entry of 3 new members to the network was ratified: Travel2Live (Romania), Taube Center for the Renewal of Jewish Life in Poland Foundation (Poland) and Burgenländische Forschungsgesellschaft (Austria); bringing the number of official members of our institutional network to 25. |

Exhibition on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Luxembourg
 Between 17 September and 17 November 2020, an exhibition on "The Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Luxembourg" will take place at Hall du Funiculaire, Middle Station, Pfaffenthal (Luxembourg). The exhibition is organised by the European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR), with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL).
The opening ceremony of the exhibition showcasing the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe crossing Luxembourg took place on 17 September 2020, with every respect for the sanitary protective measures related to COVID-19. Opening speeches were delivered by Mr. François Moyse, President of the AEPJ, Mrs. Tanson, Minister of Culture of Luxembourg, Mrs. Samardžić-Marković, Director General of Democracy of the Council of Europe and Mr. Biever, President of the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
The exhibition presents the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe crossing Luxembourg and invites visitors to discover different sites of Luxembourg's cultural heritage from a European perspective, bearing witness to our common cultural heritage.  |

The European Days of Jewish Culture are successfully launched and will run until the end of November
The 6th of September marked the beginning of this European-wide festival, dedicated to the knowledge and deepening of Judaism, and to the encounter between cultures, which has been organized by the AEPJ since 2000. This year, due to the terrible health emergency that has overwhelmed the world, we will have an edition that will necessarily be different. The coordinators of the more than 20 participating countries have made a great effort to ensure that the Festival will continue and guarantee the promotion of European Jewish history and heritage, through all kinds of activities, especially designed for the general public.

The NOA project: Work in progress
The NOA Project, Networks Overcoming Antisemitism, offers a pioneering approach to tackle the problem of rising antisemitism in Europe. With its unique partnership of major Jewish networks, it will evaluate EU Member States’ policies across areas, from education to culture and security, and help them to develop holistic national action plans to address and prevent antisemitism.
From the AEPJ we will work on this European project through a program of seminars on pluralism for the route managers of the European Routes of Jewish Culture and through the central theme of the European Days of Jewish Culture which will be "Multicultural Dialogue". The UCEI is a non-profit organisation representing 21 Jewish communities in Italy, whose millennia presence in the country have contributed to enriching its cultural, artistic and social heritage. The main purpose of the UCEI is to promote the unity of the Italian Jewish community ensuring its development in religious, spiritual, cultural and social areas. UCEI represents the Jewish community before the State, the Government and other authorities, as well as the general public in all matters regarding Jewish interests.
