Round table in Georgia
On March 29th in Tbilisi, coordinators of AEPJ affiliation in Georgia organised a round table with participation of members of International Foundation LEA, culture subgroup EaP CSF in Georgia, and also different NGOs representatives from Tbilisi, Marneuli, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Gori. The round-table participants have become interested in information about AEPJ meeting in Luxembourg. The theme of 2017 the Day of the Jewish Culture “diaspora" is very interesting on both-issue cultural heritage of Jewish diaspora of Georgia, as bridge to promote intercultural dialogue with Jewish diaspora's of world countries; and also, on the diaspora's of different ethnic/religious communities (about 16 % in Georgia are national minorities, it is more than 15 different ethnic/religious communities). They have asked to organise the next meeting for learning more information about the 2017 Jewish Culture Day.
They have told that Marine Solomonishvili, as a coordinator the third year, works and organises annually the Jewish Culture Day for popularising Jewish heritage and the AEPJ work in Georgia. She has suggested to working actively as a coordinator also on the second line-European Routes of Jewish Heritage.
Also, they have addressed to AEPJ and to their partners to help for establishing permanent program / Center for promotion both general lines of AEPJ - the European Days of the Jewish Culture and the European Routes of Jewish Heritage.
Participants of the round table have told that Jewish Heritage of Georgia is an exquisite symphony of experience, with a vital connection to world history and an enduring Jewish heritage. For the preservation of the Jewish heritage, it is important a research and a development Jewish Heritage and new Tours to serve the demand for independent tailor-made travels and to create designed journeys to fit the specific requests.
At present for Georgia, including Jewish and non-Jewish organisations, is a very interesting experience for AEPJ and its partners, in order to continue cooperation to exchange experiences of pioneer quality on heritage programs to perennial favourites such as Europe and world countries including Israel.
