Meeting with Pauletta Walsh, Officer of the Office of Religious Freedom of the United States Department of State.
Today we received a very special visit at Casa Adret, the AEPJ Headquarters: Pauletta Walsh, International Relations Officer of the Office of Religious Freedom of the United States Department of State, along with Saul Mercado (Political Officer) and Eulàlia d 'Ortadó (Political & Economic Specialist), of the US Consulate General Barcelona.
This meeting is part of a series of visits that Ms. Walsh is doing in several countries, to learn about different approaches to religious diversity and religious heritage. In this sense, the different projects that are being carried out in the Adret House HUB were presented, among them, those led by the AEPJ, such as the European Days of Jewish Culture, or the development of the European Route of Jewish Heritage of the Council of Europe. Likewise, the Mozaika Cultural Platform presented the different initiatives that are carried out in Casa Adret, such as the Jewish Book Festival, Toldot Barcelona (a Jewish Food Heritage project), Salam-Shalom, the cultural activities agenda and the historical research projects between different religious communities. We had the opportunity to see first-hand an example of this research in the Cathedral of Barcelona. The official US delegation was very interested and impressed by the work that is taking place in the Hub. And of course, also for the beauty of the Casa Adret!
